The DOS command "Ping" helps in determining TCP/IP Networks IP address as well as determine issues with the network and assists in resolving them.

Short for Packet InterNet Groper, ping is a utility used to verify if a network data packet is capable of being distributed to an address without errors. The ping utility is commonly used to check for network errors.
In computer gaming a ping also known as a high or low ping is a measurement of how fast of connection to the game server the player has. For example a player with a 50 ping is more then likely going to have a much easier and better game then a player with a 250 ping.

here's something if you wish to find the location of anybody through their ip address (its accurate, i have tried it myself )

Tracing an IP address will give you its approximate geographic location, and it's actually pretty easy to do. There are several online IP trackers that allow you to search for an IP address, including WolframAlpha and the Spiceworks IP...

it only goes as far as the country/state/city/street address of the user's ISP, and usually gives a contact email address incase you wish to report any hacking/illegal behaviour
