How do I edit VOB files??? PLEASE HELP

I received my wedding DVDs from the guy that filmed...there are tiny changes i would like to make...like taking out a couple of 5 second scenes where no one is saying anything...maybe add a couple of effects, etc.
i must have tried 6 different softwares, but none of them want to accept VOB files...at the same time, if i convert the VOB's to MPEG1/2, the quality worsens, which i dont want..
what sofwares do you guys know for a fact that will indeed accept already done DVD's??? only one so far which accepts VOB's is SONIC MYDVD, but it's a crappy program...several problems when trying to burn the project

Try VobBlanker to remove the scenes. Guides here and on site - see link in my signature.

thank you very much for your prompt response..I dont think I understand what this program actually does...so im trying to edit my dvd (add efects, delete scenes, etc)
how exactly is this software addressing my concern?

It can at least do part of what you want - delete scenes.

but as far as using roxio easy media creator or all these dvd editing softwares, what do you recommend I do? convert the VOB to MPeg, or you know specific softwares which accepts VOB's??
and which VOB convertors, keep the quality the same without distorting it?

I would work with the VOBs, if at all possible. Remeber, a VOB is an MPEG-2 (a subset of the MPEG-2 spec). You can change the extensdion from VOB to MPG if you have a package that works with MPGs

As Blutach said, rename ur file from xxx.vob to xxx.mpg.Now ur video editors ,like Ulead Video Studio or Cyberlink Power Director etc. will accept the file.
