    First time using DVD Rebuilder

    Folks,

Please point out what I did wrong....

    1. I ripped a movie "Stone Cold" by using "wizard" with DVD Decrypter - done without problem.
    2. Using DVD Shrinks to shrink the movie - no problem to play it with "media classic player".
    3. Test with DVD Rebuilder (free edition - would like to test drive before ordering a real one) with ripped movie by DVD decrypter.
    a. Following Cynthia's procedure for free edition - no problem to install.
    b. Set up DVD Rebuider per procedure - no problem to follow the instruction.
    c. Using DVD Rebuider per procedure - no error
    d. After successful DVD rebuider, play the movie by using media classic player - problem only see the menu and the sound.

    Thanks in advance

maybe there is a specific problem with this very title and the freeware edition

or maybe mpc cannot correctyl play the content for any reason

so you could try another title or use a different software player for dvd content on your harddrive - i use powerdvd for this task

Also you dont need to use Shrink before Rebuilder, better would be to use VOBblanker to remove those extras and then use Rebuilder directly. Use this guide for VOBblanker

Did you select the VIDEO_TS.IFO file when you played the files?

jdobbs will tell you - to isolate a problem, do not do any pre-processing before using DVD Rebuilder.

Quite frankly, after using DVD Shrink, there would be no need for DVD Rebuilder, as the size would fit. Rebuilder would tell you this.

Sorry about not asking the question clearly.
            1. First, I used "wizard +DVD Decrypter" to decrypt the movie in DVD Decrypter folder.
            2. Second, using Shrinks on the files in "DVD Decrypter folder" and save the result in "Shrink folder"- works great - can play with Media player classic. The whole process tooks 4 hours and 30 minutes.
            3. Third, to test DVD RB, using DVD RB free edition on the files in "DVD Decrypter folder" and save the result in "DVD Rebuilder folder". The whole process took little more than 30 minutes ??? kind of abnormal based on what I have been reading from this forum. Play VIDEO_TS.IFO with Media player classic. It does play the menu. When I click on "play movie" in the menu. The menu stays there with the sound of the movie.
I uninstall DVD RB and re-install it and go through the setting again but it does not make any different.

My computer is Celeron 466 mhz. I know it is the antique device but it still works for me.

            attached is the RB log

I used the files in "DVD Decrypter" folder for both tests.

              Thanks,

are you sure you have AVISYNTH installed?

                which encoder was used?

have you used the INSTALLER version of the freeware version of rebuilder?

Yes I used INSTALLER version of the freeware 0.96 which I believe AVISYNTH comes with it.

I don't know which encoder I used but based on Cynthia's guide with freeware version is always used HC encoder. Oh, I forgot I used HC encoder 017.

there was definitely no encoding taking place

i am not sure whether the encoder will or will not run with your cpu

The drop frame is a indication of something wrong with the dgdecode.dll file. I got the same problem when trying to use to a newer version. I went back to the old version and it encoded fine. I forgot what version it is.

It works fine with dgdecode.dll 1.4.5 which is included with the package.

Can you post your rebuilder.ini file please?
