Edit and Convert MPEG to Something Smaller

I would like to edit and convert a MPEG file. The file is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long, and the file size is 114mb. I am wanting to make it smaller so I can e-mail and upload to Myspace.com Please keep in mind I was lucky to get the video to my computer from my handycam, but it is now on my computer. In other words, I have no idea what I am doing. If you could, please help. Thanks

you'll probably want mpeg4/xvid, use AutoGK
