    DVDs skipping on my laptop

I got a new laptop last August, and I've been able to play DVDs fine until about a week ago. Now whenever I try to play a DVD, it skips a lot and makes the audio really jerky.

I figured out that I needed to check the DMA and followed what it said here: http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...threadid=44808 But I can't seem to change it to Ultra DMA Mode 5. It just wont let me change that setting.

    Any advice?

What is your drive set to if you can't set it back to Ultra 5? Did you try uninstalling driver and then restarting computer?

It used to say PIO Mode. I uninstalled and restarted it and now it says Multi-Word DMA Mode 2 but it still wont let me change it.

EDIT: Nevermind. It's working now! Finally. Thanks!
