    xvid to avi

    Hey is there a program like video cleaner but free to convert xvid to avi?
    -My bad I just saw that i posted this in the wrong forum i should have payed more attention to wat i was doing.-

    What container is your XviD in? Please supply the file info.

      Ya this is going to sound dumb but what do you mean by container.Do you mean like what it was saved in like zip and stuff? lol

        avi is a container. Xvid is a video codec. Unless you have a raw video stream, then it is in a container. Other containers that can store Xvid would be mp4, ogm, mkv, nut, dsm and nsv. If you have an avi though (probably still the most common container for Xvid), then your question is in regards to converting avi to avi.

          Nvm Forget about avi am I able to make it mpeg.
          I'm trying to save it to a cd-rom so I can play it on my dvd player.
          here is wat the file looks like.

            OK.It is a WMV9 file. You can use TMPGEnc to convert to VCD compliant mpeg.This is free.Other free tools are Mediacoder,SUPER.
