First burn with ImgBurn
Upgraded the computer to Vista over the weekend, hadn't gotten around to reinstalling Nero yet. Decided to try ImgBurn instead. Backed up a DVD using DVD Shrink to an ISO file and burned DVD with ImgBurn. DVD plays on my computer, on my older Sanyo standalone DVD player on the small TV but not the newer JVC DVD player attached to the big screen. I'm still relatively new to this. Any ideas? Thanks!!

What king of blank discs are you using & did you check the manual for your new player that it played these discs? If you saved the burning log it would be in Program Files / ImgBurn / Log, could you copy & paste that burn log in to a reply post? Did you also get the newly updated version of ImgBurn? Being new here is a link you might be interested in.

I'm using Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD+R discs, the player is compatible with all DVD formats, and this is the only one so far out of about a dozen backups that doesn't play. The only difference is that I used ImgBurn (the latest version 2.2.0.0) for this DVD.

your burner and firmware and allowed burn speeds and the MID codeComment

looks like it has recent firmware, the above thread is just for general knowledge but you might want to bookmark it for future use
make sure you set a burn speed of 8X or lower with a blank in with Imgburn
before you attempt another burn
also see if the benq tab will enable bitsetting, to increase playability

Yes, Chewy, Dell XPS 600, about 8 months old.
I will follow your suggestions and see if I can get a DVD that works in the "good" player.

hey
this may sound stupid but im wondering exactly how i burn a dvd using Imgbrn.
I currently use AVS DVD Authoring.
It is a great program and very easy to use
but im useing the evaluation version
On this version its pretty self exlanitory
chapter if ya want or just build then burn dvd.
vualla disk burnt works in all dvd players i have tried.
problem is that the trial version leaves watermarks in the center of the screen ,,,coming on every say 15 minutes.
also even though it has an aspect ratio to check it does not work with the trial and realy want to use 4:3 aspect for our tv.
Is there even a 4:3 ratio to choos from on image burn.
P.S. my first 2 trials of image burn didnt work and didnt play in the dvd player.
complete instructions would be awsomely appreciated as i have been told the image burn was a very good burner.
