walmart's spec page is the worst piece of horse dung I have ever seen

let's get some real data first

download everest home and post the overclock report under computer

leave off the the bottom debug crud

EVEREST Home Edition is a freeware system information, system diagnostics and benchmarking solution for home PC users, based on the award-winning EVEREST Technology....

then we can match up what you need with what you have

Won't work you need 240 pin RAM

      from your PC Specs

Memory; 512MB PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM memory (2x256MB for ultimate performance) (expandable to 2GB)

      Memory Slots; 2 DIMM (240-pin, DDR2) (occupied)

This is the memory requirements for your Hp Pavilion s7310N. This is from HP web site. And to answer you question yes. But I would buy 2 and then you would have 1Gig of system memory. I have 1Gig of memory in my laptop and the performace is much better than when I only had 512Meg of memoy.

            Component Attributes
            Memory Installed 512 MB (2 x 256)
            Maximum allowed 2 GB (2 x 1 GB)
            Speed supported PC2-4200 MB/sec (runs @ 3200)
            Type 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM
            DIMM slots Two
            Open DIMM slots None

Since you will have to pull the 2 256 megs sticks and be spending over 100$ for 2 sticks of the new ram, I would just optimize the computer and not
waste more money on an entry level machine, that cpu and bus speed are too lame to benefit much from the extra ram
