    ImgBurn write speed

I have 4x selected as the write speed, can anyone tell me why when I took this screen shot the it's writing at 6x? Is there something I'm missing?

    I 03:10:19 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: YUDEN000-T02-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x)

why did it change from this to this on different burns??

    I 14:46:54 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: YUDEN000-T02-00) (Speeds: 6x, 8x)

Maybe your drive doesn't support 4x on those discs?

if you stick a blank in and open imgburn the right window will show you the allowable burn speeds, liteon's usually don't burn at less than 6x on modern media

      that's a hint

          From your attached ImgBurn log

Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: YUDEN000-T02-00) (Speeds: 6x, 8x)

but if you scroll down in the burn log you'll see that it used to be other speeds too

            @Chewy
all the burns I posted in the disk quality scan thread were on ty media at 4x

and changed firmwares too, that's what gives the different allowable burn speeds?

yes I changed firmwares to PSOB, for 10 burns, then went back to PS09..... and burned at 4x like I had been doing when I originally bought the burner

something get messed up in the flash?

8X should be fine with those blanks

                      mysterious

                      fancy liteon utility running?

                      maybe corrupted firmware?

You can get burns just as good at 8x with that media IMO.
