    Introducing: My commercial!

My ISP recently had a "make your own commercial" contest, and my parents gave me permission to make one and submit it.

I just thought I'd share it here in case anyone's interested!

Click here I know it's a little bit choppy, I was pressed for time, so it's the best I could do

Plus, everyone has always said I had a good advertising voice, I figured that counts for something LOL

        Thanks!

I had to email the submission place after the deadline... it was finished on 5/30 at like 10:30 PM and it said they weren't accepting submissions at that point, despite the fact that it said the contest was running until 11:59. So I emailed them and they said I can email it to them and they'll enter it. No reply from them yet, but I hope they can enter mine in the contest!

The Cd stacks were neat! I don't have the patience to put something together like that (or the free time)

My sis-in-law made a vhs recording years ago for her (then) boyfriend where she "popped" in & out of the pic. Sort of like a "transporter" effect like on Star Trek.

For that "old" technology, we thought that was the most awesome thing we ever saw!

But, IIRC, it did take her forever to make it all work!
Keep at it drf, I see video production work in your future!

I think that was a great commercial you made, especially being so limited on time!

                Good luck to you drf!!

Well I was bored Sunday night, LOL!

I actually did the CDs in reverse order. I started with the full stack (btw that's every CD I own... I stopped buying CDs a couple years ago now that I can download music, but still that's over 100!) and shot the video of me putting the last case on. I then used my dad's tripod, and took one off one by one, took still pictures (with no flash, to reduce glare), every time one was removed.
Then I put them into a video sequence with VDub, and reversed using AVISynth. It took me about an hour and a half to take the pictures, and about 15 minutes to put that clip together.

And btw it's on the official WOW contest page! My mom was impressed that I got mine entered despite only having 2 days, hopefully they'll show it on TV!

Keep at it drf, I see video production work in your future!
That's one thing I'd actually like going into, audio and video editing are some of my fortes in computers (notice all my old posts reccomending Ulead?) I made a video using animated clips for my history project, and all the kids are now asking me to help them make videos! I also made a photo slideshow with music for my mom's Girl Scout troop, so I have some experience in that.

I wonder how much a job in video/audio editing pays these days? All I need to do now is buy Adobe Premiere and figure out how to use it (though I doubt my PC could handle it due to low CPU and RAM)

Y'know, a nice widescreen LCD monitor would be great for Vid. editing work...time to drop some hints to Mom & Dad - it would make a great "end of school year" present!

My W/S (22") is super; I wouldn't want to use anything else now after working with it for a few months.

BTW, props to ya on the "magna cum laude" honor you mentioned that you were shooting for in your other thread. Work hard, young drf; You have so many opportunities ahead of you, which I for one didn't have when I started out.

Plus, I was "bullheaded", which didn't help matters. For the first several years out of school I had to work real hard, dirty work, despite having a trade school degree, which I though was enough at the time...

That little piece of paper works wonders during job interviews...

I have a 15" LCD, most people say it's too small but I've gotten used to it since I got it in 2002!

But it's the CPU and memory that's not enough, I added 512MB last year so that I could get certain programs to even install, but it runs the same speed it did with the 256MB I had before. And I don't have enough to buy a new computer, for now I'll have to live with slow performance.

Just think, work hard, get that education, to get that piece of paper, to get a decent paying job, & that slow performance is history, a thing of the past.

If you want to leave footprints in the sands of time, you better wear workboots.

I'm not getting a job this summer like I was planning on doing... because I'm going away for some of the time, and companies don't usually hire summer-only people.

Actually some companies do hire summer help.
