PS3 Firmware 2.40 Confirmed to Bring In-Game XMB Access and 'Trophies'

Sony Computer Entertainment America's Eric Lempel, Director of PlayStation Network Operations, has confirmed on the official PlayStation blog that version 2.40 of the PS3 firmware will finally bring the much requested in-game access to the XMB (Xross Media Bar), Sony's equivalent of the Xbox 360 dashboard.

I suppose 'Trophies' will be like the 360 achievement system. Some people will scoff at this type of "scoring" system, but it's actually a quite effective way to get more out of a game, despite the points earned and "trophies" gained not really worth much.
