VirtualDUV + Divx + Deinterlace = Fail. omg help plz

    Hi!
This is my first time trying to deinterlace. I was tired of those horizontal lines when watching my video recorded with my Sony camcorder.
    So here's what I did:

1- I used Sony Vegas to transfer my recordings.
2- Used Vegas to do some quick editing and Rendered as .avi UNCOMPRESSED (both for video and audio). Resulting a 35Gb file for 21 minutes.
    3- I installed AviSynth2.5 and used this script :
    AVISource("test.avi")
    separatefields

4- I opened this with VirtualDub and loaded the filter "DeinterlaceSmooth" from GunnerThalin.
    5- I chose Divx 6.8.3 Codec (2 logical CPUs):
Home Theater / 3000 bitrate / Insane quality / Rest on Default
    6- I chose MPEG Layer-3 48kbit/sec for audio compression
7- Save as AVI. And wait as VirtualDub try to process but nothing moves, video data stays at 0, total time stays at 0.

A minute later, an error (see image at the end) pops up saying that VirtualDub has crashed.

I have this error whatever way I try to deinterlace a video along with Divx codec.

Many website recommand this filter to deinterlace and suggest to use Divx, but why I keep getting this error? Please, I really need help. Divx is the ONLY codec that provides quality and small filesize.

    Help please!
    Thx in advance.
