    Are these verbs good also?

Been using tys for a bit now since I learned my lesson w/crap media. I know verbs are good also. Does it really matter what kind though as far as quality? I'm looking at these: http://www.supermediastore.com/verba...9-50-pack.html

    Thnx.

The SL ones are not reported to have any issues. For the DL ones, you want +R, 2.4X Made in Singapore.

Taiyo Yudens are the best anyway but Verbatim won't be far behind.

I've used around 400 of those Verbs and they are solid. I would however recommend these instead ~ http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo...media-100.html

Thnx fellas. Guess that premium makes TYS even better than they already are. I've been following the Golden rules of burning and burning at 1/2 the speed of the blanks. I have time and don't mind at 4x when it comes to the 8x dvd-rs. Loco have you or Blu seen anything that might suggest not burning at the full 8x. I won't do the full at 16x but wondered if at 8x it wouldn't matter much and sometimes when I do decide to burn I'm burning many so that's when I prefer the faster burn rate. Thnx.

I usually burn my 8X TY's @ 8X and can get good results as high as 12X. My 16X verbs are good up to 20X and usually don't see anything under 12X.

Thnx Loco and Tran. Guess the quality media can handle burning at more than the max of the blanks. The burner will automatically burn them at the faster rate w/out any tinkering w/the firmware? My 2 samsungs can hit 20x and the pioneer 112d I think is at 18x. Regular firmware. No cross-flashing or anything.

Went w/the Tys seeing all of you agree they're better quality. At $60 for 200 can't go wrong. Maybe I'll try the verbs another time. Thnx fellas.

I know Tys are mij. If I wanted to make sure I got Verbs from Singapore How can I? Googled but just gave info as to which crap id's and actually referred to the guide in Blu's sig also. Thnx.

SL Verbatims are made in Taiwan, the DL Verbs are made in Singapore.

supermedia just sent me an enail special

                            100 verb DL for 141$

when you read the reviews you see people complaining about getting the orange packaging even tho the blue is shown on the web site

the orange is supposed to be MII and have had a history of bad batches

Well looks like the consensus of tys being the best bet wins out. I'll stick to them online and take trans suggestion of buying the verbs in a store should I decide to. They're very expensive in the stores and not too many carry them also.

As far as dl I've seen posted that they really didn't cut the mustard as was expected, or at least prove to be since their inception.

Since you guys suggested that the verbs sl were good and now that at least some are from Taiwan, there's little we could do to change that. Almost everything's coming out of Taiwan so best bet is to pick the lot that's better known to have proved some better quality than the rest. Sonys for the most part are from Taiwan and even though they're a decent B grade they have compatibility issues w/some burners. At least the cds I had did. I lowered the burn rate to 16x which is ok anyway and then my pioneer 112d had no problem. No need to really burn faster than that anyway. I took you guy's suggestions believe me.
