    Aspect Ratio problem

I have an avi video that is widescreen 16:9 that I want to convert to divx using tmpgenc author 3. When I setup the project, the tmpgenc settings only allow aspect ratios of 1:1, 12:11, 10:11, 16:11 and 40:33. I just cant see the 16:9 option.

As an experiment I chose the closest one - 16:11 and encoded. The resulting divx file was heavily cropped and unwatchable as heads and feet were missing.

Why is there no 16:9 option?

16:9 is the Display Aspect ratio. 1:1,12:11,10:11,16:11 etc. are Pixel Aspect ratios. Under Clip properties of the avi(when opened in TDA) you should find the PAR. Use that PAR(in all probability that will be 1:1).
