    AutoGK Compression

This is probably the first and most faqqed question. Is it possible that I can write to a raw avi with AutoGK (disable the compression but do everything else), or override the compression settings vDubMod when used by autogk?

I know that vDubMod can write raw avis, but it lacks many of the important capabilities of the first steps of AutoGK. Specifically, I didn't even know that my TV Show was interlaced video until I converted it manually. I've searched, but I've only seen it asked a couple times, and the answer is generally a presumptive, "You can't do that anyway, you don't have the hard disk space."

Even if I only knew what filters AutoGK used, I would be willing to pass through the video three times. There are some filters I'd like to run after the initial decode of the VOB. I'll do them episode by episode, as the quality steadily increases throughout the series' runs.

My point is that if I am going to trouble to filter the video, I want it to be as close to the source dvd as possible. Plus it seems a waste to decode-encode-decode-process-encode. Is it a moot point anyway (i.e: is 100%, 1 quantized XVID as close as I'll get with a raw avi)?

    ^^^Addition to above, sorry...^^^

Just meant to add that I know this is a forum other than the "official" one, and if it is too off topic for you, feel free to neg or delete my posts, it is just hard to assume that the most knowledgable people have to be at doom9. I might ask at the forge, too.
