    Canon 7D HD Video

Hi Everyone. I just got a 7D body I had ordered through the mail and shot some video through a microscope (high magnification) of a relatively lit field. To my surprised, once I downloaded the .mov files on my Mac the footage was full of noise! I had shot the same field with a 5D Mark ii the day before and had abosolutely no noise and a great image quality... has anyone heard of this issue online? I did a quick search and didn't find anything... but this footage is completely unacceptable... I just wanted to see if anyone had heard anything about this issue. Thanks!

due to its fullformat sensor the 5d markII does provide a different "noise level" though judged by what i have read so far the 7d's sensor is on the same level as say nikon's 300 so the question is: did you use high iso or what iso did you work with at all?

I was looking at the footage I had taken and since the ISO was on Auto it turns out that the footage was obtained at ISO 3600. At that level, the noise was completely out of control in the video. I'm going to play around with the manual mode now and see if I have enough light in the field to set my ISO at 100 or 200. (Since I'm only using the 7D body my aperture is fixed at 0). I hope that resolves it. People are ranting and raving about the 7D's noise reduction; so I have to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thank you.
