You Can Play PS2 Games On Sony TVs, But Not On A PS3

In a very interesting move, Sony is adding PS2 gaming to a 22" TV, but has no plans to bring PS2 gaming back to the PS3.

22-inch LCD KDL-22PX300 includes is base that opens up, revealing a disc slot where you can insert your PS2 game DVDs (along with normal movie DVDs and CDs) and play with the included DualShock 2 controller.

The TV is set to retail for £200 ($USD 315), and only available in Europe at the moment.

LOL, I fail to see the point of this.

Also, that TV is 16:9, most PS2 games don't support widescreen... So it will either be stretched (EW) or pillarboxed... I'm HOPING Sony is smart enough for the second option but somehow I won't be surprised if all the games are stretched...

I'm looking forward to this making it;s way here. The reverse engineering process should prove fun and productive.
