    Sony RDR-GX7

I want to back-up movie DVD's onto DVD-R's. Unfortunately, the recorder does not want to record the DVD signal from another DVD player to the Sony DVD burner, that I recently purchased. I've tried different connections but i haven't been able to disquize the signal. Is there a scrambler or a filter that I can use or another way to duplicate my DVD collection?

It is the macrovision on your source player. Use a computer for this type of backup as it is the easiest way to do it without any major hardware mods.

The problem is not just macrovision but also CGMS copy protection (copy guard management system).

I've found a hardware device that claims it could solve the copy protection, called the Gold Box DVD Copier / TBC (time base corrector), at www.dvnation.com/dved.html. Is this worth purchasing?
