Hi!
Purchased BenQ DW1655 to replace *lame* BTC Drive... Upgraded firmware to latest - Burned a couple of discs, & decided to test them w/ Nero CD/DVD Speed tool. I am getting the following errors during the scans. PLEASE VIEW The attachment pics!
The "speed" continually rises until it is "off the chart", & then the pgm. stops & results in an error. Check out the scan pics. Text of error is:

That's a good scan of a good burn, remember benq's are a little picky, don't
feed them junk food, now you can go back and look at some old burns and see what bad really looks like.
Thought I would do a benchmark to get a little more info on what this burner is doing for me.
I am using the verbatim 16x dvd+r (MCC 004) at this time; it is the best media that I have on hand right now. Do the lightscribe discs give good results? I thought I might pick up some at my local Sam's Club. It is Verbatim Media as well...

Quality score of 94. I guess that's pretty good w/ this verbatim media...
I don't want to wander off topic too far here, but I am STILL having an issue w/ DVD playback - the movie "freezes" for a second or two & then resumes. On 3 different players this will occur, w/ 2 different media types.
I thought once I got a quality burner my problem would be resolved, but not so.
I am guessing that my players just don't like the type of media that I am feeding them, but that's just a quess...
time to bitsett dvd+r to dvd-rom
also try some premium dvd-r and see how compatible your players are with that media
premium media, good burning and premium burners won't fix flakey players
It's a steep mountain, bring the right gear, and it's a long climb, the air gets thin, problem is after you think the climb is over, the next peak is still ahead.
At least it's not boring.
After following the bitset change to DVD-ROM, my quality scores are getting worse instead of better Also see screenshot of scan - any ideas? What gives w/ the bad results?

Sorry - didn't save the burn log... wish I would have. I will from now on. I am using the same Verbatim media I have all along, from a 50 spindle. I have used about 25 so far...a few bad disks maybe?
maybe?
kind of wondering about the flash and the burner also
how are the burns on other media?
watch out for qsuite, easier to screw up a burner,
seen several hose their burns playing with those tweaks, I leave everything on default,
if it ain't broke I don't try to fix mine, way over my head.
