just in case the nero folder is still there?

        or you try again

course there's always the free alternative to nero(version 7 is a resource hog)

actually the burn failed is less than a minute

before we go any further, lets have make and model of that laptop, looks like
may be an HP, also check out imgburn for testing purposes

Hi chewy, I'm using an HP indeed, pavilion zd8000 series.
While waiting for your answer I'm checking out imgburn.

I am adding these links for reference only, do not act on them yet, especially before contacting your warranty support, these involve advanced dangerous
techniques and can render your drive useless(kill it).

                  1. contact HP about replacement of the drive if they don't have newer firmware for that toshiba drive and imgburn doesn't work(nero 7.0 is so iffy
we can't use it to verify anything)

                  2. if all else fails then you might try to change the drive to a toshiba and
                  get better firmware support

these damn things should work straight out of the box!

from the nero log your drive is a slave drive and takes a specific firmware

Thanks for the help chewy, seems that I'm not the only one with this problem. Gonna contact HP and see what they say.

                    Thanks a lot

make sure it's not a nero problem first, use imgburn to make another coaster

the ritek r03's aren't very good but any burner should be able to burn a few,
                      at least 50%.
