    DVD to .mov for Website???

I have a SmartRipper that I can copy DVD movies, but I realized it doesn't have a .avi or .mov files I can save them? I am new at this, bear with me.

Is there a free software I can download that does all the work for me to create a .mov for my Website? I don't intend to copy the entire movie, but the best part of the background motions, etc.

    Your information is greatly appreciative!

        Hi! In need of clue....

Hello - I have no idea what I am doing - well kinda. Been trying to use Flask Mpeg to convert a .vob file on a system running XP - it does wonky things like screw up the audio track so it doesn't sync with anything. Afterwards - I tried to get the file into Premiere 6.0 - and it said that it wasn't a supported format - what am I doing wrong now!!!! Whaaaa

Solution - Don't stream a mov, stream an avi.
          Here's how:
Find a guide on converting a DVD to DivX that works for you.
AFter you got your DivX/AVI, Follow Nicky Pages guide on how to stream an AVI file. If you dont want to stream, just make available for download, then convert to divx -> post the avi -> then link for download.

Either way, make sure your viewers have the latest DivX codecs installed and wutever other codecs you may be using (ie ogg, mp3).

          Hope that works...

            Oh wow!

Nicky's Pages?? Where are those! You can stream and .avi? If I do that will Windows people and Mac people will be able to watch it? I can do this through premiere? I figured out what the problem was with that silly mpeg - I was using the wrong settings. Premiere couldn't deode it correctly - make it into streaming media - because I goofed up the layers - and I need to download some more codecs (to make premiere and Ez Cleaner happier - saner programs). Thank you!
