Re-encode only the sound stream of a mpeg file

I want to know if a software is able to re-encode the audio stream only of a mpeg file.

NB: Virtual Dub say that the end of my file is unexpected (So I can't use it on this file) and TMPGenc seems to be not able do that.

Use an audio editor such as GoldWave - simply "drag and drop" the MPEG file onto the open GoldWave window...

It didn''t make what I wanted..

The problem is I want it keep the video stream and the audio stream together...
In fact I want it convert the audio stream but let the video stream
unchanged as if you put direct stream copy for video and full processing mode for audio with virtual dub.

May be I didn't managed to do what you said..??

Into what format have you converted, or do you wish to convert, the audiostream?

What is it that you wish to do with the combined MPEG videostream and new audiostream?

(If you're thinking SVCD with .AC3 audio, don't bother. Although this will play perfectly well on your PC, you'll be watching a silent SVCD on your standalone DVD player - because the SVCD standard does not include .AC3 audio)
