I can understand it - the WMOP does not play it at all.
However the WIN DVD 7 also doesn play the output file correctly. It plays garbled video which is shrunk as shown on the attachment there.

The question was hence WINDVD7 _CAN_ play the .TS file, why it can't play the converted file?

    Thanks

again its due to the fact that winDVD decoders (when encoding to MPEG2/DVD it uses that to encode... the filters) are terrible - this is what the output result will be

try it with cyberlink powerdvd - see what the results are

Well. When I try to playback file with POWERDVD (latest - 6 - delux) it shows the blank screen with the sound (however if I press the snapshot button it does capture the actual frame with picture - can't understand why? However when I try to VIEW the -TS- file PowerDVD also produces a sound but just displays some sort of random animation rather than video. If I turn on the 'INFORMATION' mode in it - it's shows the bitrate for audio, but it shows ZERO bitrate for video.

However it is PLAYABLE TS file. WinDVD7 can play it perfectly.
(but on the other hand it doesn't allow to capture frame)

I don't understand the problem completely.

        So, nothing seems to work.
Since I needed to capture frames as my main goal I seems can't figure out the way I can do it.....

Can you let me know how to use HFTVtoMPEG2 with a non high definition .ts file? My Coolsat 7000 PVR records in .ts format, but not HD. When I use the software it does not recognize the .ts file. I tried using the program easyVxiD.exe and it does extract the video component just fine, but cannot find and decode the audio component and therefore I get no MP3 file out. Please let me know your recommendations.
