    Changing Screen Size

I want to know if there is a way of changing the screen size when making a backup of your Dvd`s. I use Dvd Decryptor to rip to my drive then Ifoedit. I noticed that you can change the screen res in ifoedit but at what piont must this be done? I have tried it and it don`t seem to make any difference. All my backups so far are letterboxed and while thats okay on my widescreen TV cos i can expand the screen it is no good on my 4.3 TV upstairs ??

    PLEASE HELP

    Mexman,

It's easy to change your screen from Wide to Normal or vice versa by using IfoEdit and here's how:

    1. Open up your VTS_xx_0.IFO from IfoEdit (xx is the number of your Main movie)

    2. Scroll down until you see Title Set (Movie) attributes:
    3. Double click on VIDEO MPEG-2
    4. From the Aspect Ration, change 16:9 to 4:3
    5. Click on OK button
    6. Save this file
    7. Let it play and it now will be a FULL SIZE (NORMAL SCREEN)

        Rendering New Screen Size

Thanks, that worked well on playback. But I wonder can I maintain the full screen setting when authoring or rendering the .vob file to .mpg? Or is there another way to do that? Thanks.

          magamachine,

Remember, you only change the IFO to tell it to play your VOB files in whatever screen format you want it to play.

When you encode VOB to Mpeg, you can just to the same, just tell if you're using DVD2SVCD, tell it to encode to Full or wide screen. take care

For now I am using TMPGEnc and I have not been able to find a way to consistently change the screen size on the output. But I am just getting into this stuff so I might be missing something.
