playback problem

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to windows XP from 98 (thought it will be faster). After that my DVD player wont paly any DVDs. Since I installed XP, I dont have original software to play DVD, I downloaded Media Player 9 series. I am getting a message as " dvd decoder can't find" (something like that ) when I try to play a dvd. What decoder should I install ? where will I find it?

Didn't your DVD player come with a CD - which included player software (WinDVD or PowerDVD, etc...)?
