    Disney Selfdestruct

I clicked on a link in yahoo news to the new Disney Self-destructing rental DVD's and followed the links to a current lawsuit by the MPAA against DVDX Copy. Looks like Hollywood is winning and "fair use" is being redefined. Clinton judges, no doubt.

"current lawsuit by the MPAA against DVDX Copy"

Actually, the publishers of DVDX Copy initiated that lawsuit, in an attempt to put the onus on the MPAA to prove that the software violated any existing laws...

Boy, you should read the spin yahoo news is putting on it...they have the DVDX Copy article mixed in with Fed crack downs on several other DVD software copying scammers. These judges worry me...anyone who doesn't know what is is might fall prey to a $1,000-100,000 cattle futures deal or a $100,000-17million global crossing investment set up by hollywooders, and decide that the rights of the individual (read: constitution) should be subjugated to the good of the whole (read: socialist (Communist/Nazi/ThirdWay) focused by 1 man totalitarian rule.) "Fair use" appears to be in for the fight of it's life.

This thread probably more appropriately belongs in the "Boycotts, Rants, etc." sub-forum or "Off Topic" sub-forum...

Sorry...it really got my dander up when I saw that. Guess they'll be coming to take my VHS library, too.
