      Hello All!

I have read about these about 8 months ago. At that time Disney was in favor of this. I have say I am not. It may be good if you just like to rent movies. this way they dont have to be returned. but Its more pollution and garbage. I for one am not in favor of this.

I'm wondering though, will the Flexplay DVD system (while for sure giving the studios the upper hand on controlling content) be able to put a damper on piracy? Are they implementing a system within the manufacture of the disks that will foil your average DVD ROM drive?

DVDs that are unplayable after 48 hours of viewing

The rule is what ever the market will bare, that is if the subliminal advertising does not make us lose all sense of reason and become complete consumer robots.

                  Hello All!

With the Flexplay disc you have 48 hours before the disc becomes unplayable. It turns opaque after 48 hours but during this time it just like a regular DVD.

Nobody is going to buy it! And as far as Bvista being an arm of Disney, It ain't attached to much of a body. Disney stocks soar....downward. Pixar Pictures saw the light and did the "Disney duck". It's another ploy to see if us consumers will actually roll over and give this old DivX drudgery another try. You think Bvista would use the Circuit City flop as a clue to what will happen to their EZ-D if they try it again. We have begun to set the standard here in Canada where for the moment the recording industry cannot push us around. Let's keep it that way. Circuit City divX, illegal mp3 file sharing, EZ-D.... is all going the way of the dodo. Let's keep on pushing back

I just bought 2 flexplay movies 4 days ago.
I live in Missouri and they are being sold a 7-11 stores.

                              Here is what I found.
When the disk begins to turn black it happens from the center and outward.
If you look ath the center hole of the dvd you will notice that there is a small gap inside of there.
The gap is from 2 layers of the disk stacked on top of each other.
The chemical that degrades is sealed between the 2 layers.

                              SO...
How do we stop the degrading of the disk.
It is more simple than I would have imagined.
RAINX and WAX WILL NOT WORK since it is not the surface that degrades.
In the center hole there is a gap as stated above.
This gap allows air to enter and starts the degrading process.
Take some super glue or silicone ans fill in that gap right away.
As soon as you open the disk fill in that gap.
The way to see the gap is to look straight though the hole and tilt the disk a bit sideways and you will see it.

                              WANT PROOF.
just wait 24 hours without sealing it and watch the center of the disk star to spiderweb with blackness.
It will soon spread to the disc surface and then go totally black.

This proves the reaction starts at that gap.

I have sealed the 2 flexplay disks I have and they have yet to degrade after 4 days now.

                              SO THERE YOU HAVE IT.

sorry if this was hard to understand, I was in a frantic rush to share with others my findings.

                              Good Luck.

P.S. I registered here just to tell you all.
