Region-Free Firmware for the Sony DRU-510A?

Does anyone know where to get region-free firmware for the Sony DRU-510A, or if there is any available?
I apologize if this is not the right forum, but I'm at work now and have to be kind of quick about it...

1) I don't believe there is any

2) In light of the fact that this is a burner, I assume your primary use is to backup your DVDs. As such, you can use DVDDecrypter to read, decrypt, and eliminate the Region code of any DVD - so why "mess" with your hardware?
