Poor video file or video card?

I'm watching a movie and the video sometimes seems to temporarily lag. It also seems not to never run as quickly as the sound(thus slightly out of sync). Is it a bad file or may it be my video card? It's an on-board graphics processor that came with the machine. I hear they are real crappy and are system hogs. Could that be the culpret?

I am pretty sure that it is your on-board graphics card.
    What are your computer's specifications?

Yes onboard video cards are crap, mostly because they share the system ram, which is very slow compared to dedicated videoram.

Before u rush out and buy a new video card, u could try something else.

You might be able to lower the load on the cpu by lowering the post processing level.

Using windows media player 6.4 select files->properties->advanced->Divx decoder filter and move the slider to the left.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
