    Elementary Stream vs System Stream?

    In TMPGenc there is the option Elementary system and System stream. I would like to know what difference does it make between them and which is better for play back on the PC and on the TV?

    Thanks

    the elementary stream leaves the audio and videostream unmuxed.... this is great when it comes to author a dvd or svcd
    either with multiple audiostreams or if you meet some out of sync problems....

    I have not noticed a difference in the content when firstpass encoding is used....... between es and ss

    multiple passes --> use ES

      So from a DVD rip if I have only one audio track and will not author, is it better to put it as SS?

      It may sound stupid but what is firstpass and multipass...?
