power director pro 2.55 CTD

Hi all, I'm new to this forum so I hope there is someone who can help.

I have power director pro 2.55. I have managed to produce one movie from AVI on my harddisc to produce my wedding DVD.

Unfortunately now, everytime I open the saved file the power director crashes to desktop. (CTD) My pc has been upgraded and I put power director on first but have since installed direct X 9b. I dont want to have to reload the AVI and re-edit the whole thing.

I have tried uninstalling the software then reinstalling from scratch, but there was no improvement.

System spec AMD athalon 3200+, 1GB RAM , Abit kv7 main board, ATI 7200 VIVO, 2 40GB western digital hard drives, win xp pro. all latest drivers.

Has anyone else had this CTD problem and found a solution?

try ulead video studio 7 and see if it can be used instead. seems ur powerdirector is messed up or it having trouble with some windows drivers.
