    Video capturing hardware

    Hi im in need of help. i have a digital video camera but want to load up the film to the p.c. to put on dvd. i have a dvd-rw but need a video capturing hardware.

    Any clues on where to get it and what software to use and How?????

    The choices are numerous, and depend solely on how much you're willing to spend.

    Basically, you need a firewire (IEEE-1394) card and editing software. Firewire cards intended for video work come bundled with necessary software. But not all bundles are created equal.

    You can spend a little and get the bare essentials, or go for quality such as with Canopus or Pinnacle if you can spend more. I use the Canopus DVRaptor with Adobe Premiere.
