backup movie will play in DVD player but not 100% in power DVD

I have a small problem. My backup movie will play in TV DVD player and would not play the whole movie on computer, using Power DVD. Half way into the movie it would prompt an Error Code 89020003 ¡§The DVD disk might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation.
I extract the original movie with DVD Shrink 2.3. I then tested the movie by using power DVD it opens fine and plays ok. I then used Nero 6 to burn the movie with verify data option checked. Nero burned and verified ok. Please help

Nero 6 is buggy. Have you checked for an update?
The shrunk DVD structure plays ok?
Have you tried another author such as TMPGEnc DVD Author?
It's available for a free trial or BurnAtOnce which is freeware.

"My backup movie will play in TV DVD player"

This would indicate that there is NO problem with your burning software. It would seem that your problem is arising either from your PC's DVD player (or burner, if thats' what you use for playback) or PowerDVD's inability to deal with a "layer break".

If you play the ORIGINAL DVD on your PC, does PowerDVD exhibit the same behaviour?

I think I must have been having a bad day yesterday - today isn't faring much better!

If your disk is working in your standalone then it's mission accomplished! For it to then not work in PowerDVD I'd guess you're trying to run a file rather than a disk?
Similarly, a disk burned in data mode might work in PowerDVD and 'file mode' but then not run in your standalone.

i have tried burning about 3 or 4 dvd's now with both dvdshrink and with nero 6.0.0.0

in all cases with dvdshrink it puts the resulting files into a folder on my hd and then burns the dvd-r

              in all cases works perfectly

then when i want to make another copy i try and use nero

go thru all the right procedures, dvd-video etc

put the dvd into my dvd-rom/dvd recorder - pioneer dvr106rd

it starts fine but every time i try and go to a chapter or play from a point further on the play bar it freezes and i get an error about cleaning disc, disc may be damaged etc

but i was under impression dvdshrink burnt the dvd with nero anyway

so why does dvd shrink burn perfect copies, but nero is burning rubbish ones that cant ff chapters ???

i am v confused indeed by this
