    Burning a DVD with CD-R/RW

    Hello
I'm new to this forum and have a question that may seem rather dumb to many of you, yet I need to know. Is it at all possible to copy a DVD without using a DVD burner? Can you use a CD-R /RW or somehow save the entire movie as a single image on your pc?

    No...

At a minimum, in order to physically copy a DVD to your hard drive, you would have to have a DVD-ROM(reader) as part of your PC system...

ok, thanks. I was afraid of that. I thought I had read or heard somewhere that it was possible to save a dvd movie as an image and play it.

          More to it..

Well you can rip DVD's to a video format and then burn the video file to a VCD or SVCD using a CD-R/RW as a media to store the "image" on!

You can, you just need a DVDROM to rip it as Setarip said.
