    dvd backup

    I'm new to this and I'm trying make backups of my dvd's and they say write protected when I try to copy them, what can I do. I'm using roxio easy cd & dvd creator 6

      You have to first use a program to "rip" (decrypt and copy) the DVD. Some such (freeware) programs are DVD Decrypter, SmartRipper, and DVD Shrink. DVD Shrink will also, if necessary, compress your DVD (if its total filesize is greater than 4.37Gb), so that you can burn it to one DVD...
