    Removing dust speckles with filter

What is a good filter to use in virtualdub to get rid of dust\hair speckles and random white dots found on old film?

I'm trying to convert old HK films into Divx but the source DVD contains a lot of noise.

If possible, could you also specify the settings to use with the filter.

    Thanks in advance

PS. If you know of a good way to do this with programs other than virtualdub, I would like to know that too.

Try to remove any "noise" or any other irritating aspect with Virtual Dub Filter such as :

    DeDynamic Noise Remover
    Blur Mode

    or Despeckle...

But as with all filters : use them wisely and respect them
