Empty buffers when burning with DVD Decrypter

I use DVD Decrypter to burn my DVD backups. For the recent few burns I watched the whole burning process and I noticed that the device buffer and the (program) buffer always became empty after about 5-6 min of burning. I did not use the computer for any other task during burning. After a few seconds the buffers were filled again and the burning proceeded. Is this normal? I have a NEC-2500A and I always burn DVD-R discs at 4X with the BURN-Proof setting in DVD Decrypter enabled. Why do the buffers become empty? Will this influence the result in any way?
