Can North american DVD players play PAL burnt DVDs?

I burnt a PAL video onto a dvd-R and it won't play in my dvd player, i'm guessing it's because the player won't play the european standard, is it?

I'd try encodin in to NTSC but i don't have anymore DVD-Rs at the moment so i'd like to know if this is the problem.

    THanks.

Some can, most can't. You'll have to do some research...

(By the way, your television will also have to be capable of handling the differing refresh rate)

Just curious - Does your mildly inflammatory posting help "toelessfoot" in any way?
