AVI's that don't work in WMP

For some reason I have AVI's that don't want to work in Window's Media Player. It is only my AVI's too. All my WMV files works and so do my MPEG's. The weird thing though is that they work in DivX player. I think it may have something to do with my codec's but I don't know. I have XivD installed and DivX 5.11 Pro. Does anyone know how to get these AVI's to work in WMP? Any help would be nice!

Download and install the latest FFDirectShow codec pak.

I downloaded and installed the pack, and it works, but only for certain videos. A video encoded with DivX 5.0.2 freezes WMP. Is there a solution for this?

Try the more "Stable" Divx 3.11 alpha codec.

An unmodified .AVI encoded with a DivX v.5.xx codec won't play under the DivX v.3.11alpha codec...

            To setarip:

Thanks for that bit of info. That might have had something to do with my recent problem with AVI files freezing.
