    Simple Program To Make Mpegs Smaller?

    I HAVENT REALLY GOTTEN THE HELP, IVE NEEDED.
    NOBODY ON THIS BOARD HAS BEEN ABLE TO EXPALIN TO ME EXACTLY WHY WHEN I DRAG MY 700MB MPEG-2 FILE TO ROXIO TO BURN A DVD DOES THE SIZE BALLON TO OVER 2GIGS.

    AND WHAT CAN I DO TO SIMPLY MAKE THE MPEG FILE SMALLER WITHOUT TAKING HOURS TO RE ENCODE. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP

      As I responded in your other (Duplicate) post:

      "it wont take forever to re encode"

      You'll have to use a program such as TMPGEnc or CCE to reduce the bitrate - but this WILL ALWAYS require recoding. How long this takes depends upon your system...

          I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP, BUT U PROBABLY MISSED WHERE I WROTE THAT I USED TMPG ENC AND IT LITTERALLY WAS TAKING HOURS. CAN U EXPLAIN TO BE IN DETAIL HOW TO DO IT.
