    Home DVD Movies

We have just purchased a VCR/DVD Recorder and it works great. But there is one MAJOR problem. We have 15+ years of video tape of vacations we have taken in Europe. We would like to convert these to DVD, which is no problem to do. BUT, we would like to output to be readable by European DVD players, as our relatives are in Eastern Europe. I understand that we are in Region 1, and they are in region 2 and the two are not compatible. Is there any way to create DVDs that they can watch? These are not commercial movies and only home video. I would also consider creating DVDs on a computer. Is it possible to copy the DVD to the PC, zip the file, and send through email or copy to a CD? They could copy it onto their computer and create the region 2 DVD.

Any suggestions would be very, very helpful.

The simplest solution is to have your relatives purchase a multi-regional/multi-format capable DVD player...
