New to Forum, problem with Kill Bill backup

Hello everyone. Have searched earlier threads concerning English subtitles when the characters are speaking Japanese. I have followed the DVD shrink guides and suggestions about forcing the subtitle stream and it works fine on Power DVD. However (with subtitles selected ON) when I play on my recently purchased JVC DVD player, the DVD FREEZES when the subtitles should begin to show. I have to keep pressing play to free it up and the same thing happens again when the next subtitle should appear. So, do we think my player just will not do it, or have I overlooked something that some of you geniuses may know about. Also, using DVD-R media. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

If you play the DVD on your PC does that work?

      Hi, Cynthia,
Yes, as I said above, using Power DVD with subtitle ON. Thanks for the reply!
