Backup DVD Movies Have Commentator Talking Automatically

It sound like you might have accidentally selected only the directors commentaries in the audio section when initially backing up the DVD.

I am using DVD Shrink 3.1

Did you try using the standalone DVD player's remote control ("Audio" or "Language" button) to select a different audiostream?

One thing I noticed was that I deselected AC3 5.1-ch English for Audio in the Main Movie. Could that have been it?

Yep, thats why.

I thought I had the option to select either:
AC3 5.1-ch English
AC3 2-ch English

I figured since I am not using a surround system I would deselect
AC3 5.1-ch English.

So then I have to include AC3 5.1-ch English, even though I don't have a surround system?

As far as I know, only the director commentaries are in 2 channel. Even though you dont have a surround system, your TV will default back to 2 channel even though you left AC3 5.1 channel on your back up.

You are mistaken. There are MANY DVDs that offer the primary movie audio in BOTH .AC3 and 2 channel stereo (and, sometimes, DTS)...
