DVD BURN Failed - Please help

I have recently burned DVD's using DVD Shrink, Nero and GQ media (from Fry's) successfully.

Now nothing I try will work. I tried using Decrypter, as well and cannot figure out what to do. I have wasted media and now I am starting to get real upset as this is the purpose for buying my new computer.

Copy of error log follows. PLEASE HELP!

Do you have the latest firmware for your burner? Also try burning at a lower speed instead of 16X.

Thank you for your response. I have seen the FirMware mentioned numerous times. Where do I update it? Also, will definately slow down the burn speed to match the media being used. Can you direct me to update the Firmware?

Did the burner come with the computer from Dell or did you buy the burner from a store and have it installed?

The burner came with the Dell computer. I followed the link given for the firmware but it says that it should be for advanced users only. I am not an advanced user and I do not want to risk ruining my new computer. Is this the only option?

The other option is to go to Dells homepage and find the firmware there or call the Dell support.

Cynthia, that was going to be my next step. Hey are you an experienced DVD Burner that is willing to help me. I have burned before, but suddenly I can't.

First of all - is your media really labelled for 16x burning? Do as jmet suggested - go down in speed. Upgrading the firmware is very easy - just don't have any disc in your burner and no other program running at the same time. Download and run the file and then restart your PC.

Definately not labeled for 16x burning. Don't know why it was set that way.
Dell does not have any upgrade for my burner nor does Phillips.
                          So, am I stuck?
This is so frustrating because I was able to do it before - before it stopped working.
                          Thanks.

If I remember it right - the combination with burning with Nero from DVD Shrink will only give you max speed (you can't choose a lower value) so you could try to burn with DVD Decrypter. That program works with DVD Shrink and you can set the burn speed to what you want.

To use DVD Decrypter with DVD Shrink, do I have to uninstall Nero first?
                              Thank you.
