    VirtualDub Nibbler

    VirtualDub 1.4.8

    Divx 4 Codec

VirtualDub allows you to nibble away frames at the end of Divx videos, but won't let you do it at the beginning or in the middle. You have to edit at key frames.

Is there a way around this or is there any software you know of that allows you to do this?

    Thanks.

You could re-save the DivX-compressed .AVI, making every frame a keyframe...

      Thanks For Posting.

This is what I'd like to do. I no longer have the original uncompressed .avi. How do I re-save the compressed .avi and make more keyframes or all keyframes?

You can readily accomplish this under VirtualDub...

keep in mind, however, that this may drastically reduce video quality...

I did a "Normal Recompress" and configured the codec to a Max Keyframe interval of 30. This did what I wanted and I didn't notice any loss of quaility. Even the file size remained the same.

            Thanks for posting.
