No it was a brand new blank disc. I went through almost a whole pack trying to get them to burn. I really should change to RW untill i figure this out

Cynthia, I went to turn my DMA on but they are already turned on. Could it be another problem?

According to the log file they are not - try to uninstall the burner and then restart your pc to install it again automatic.

If your using Windows XP, do this: Go to Control Panel> System> Hardware Tab> Device Manager> IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers> Right Click Primary IDE channel (and Secondary IDE channel after you finish with Primary)> Properties> Advanced Settings Tab> Transfer Mode or go here to learn: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616

Do the above from both "Primary & Secondary IDE channels".

I (We) and you need to look at whats in both "Transfer Mode" and "Current Transfer Mode". Screen shot below is what I'm talking about.

If it is in "PIO" mode. Click the "Driver" tab, and uninstall the driver. Then reboot. Upon rebooting windows will automatically reinstall the driver and it should go back to "DMA" mode.

Ok so I have fixed the DMA problem and also updated nero. Everything looks fine but still...same result. Here is the latest log:

I noticed in Cynthias Nero Problems FAQ it talks about existing drivers and registry keys causing interference. But it doesn't say what to do about them. Could that be the problem and if so what should I do? Pardon my frustration but I have had absolutlely no problems for the past six months and all of a sudden I can't use my DVD burner at all. Thanks for all the help so far and any more that you guys give me!

Only suggestion is to try to burn them slower - 2x or perhaps even at 1x. Can't find any updates for your TEAC burner.

Another solution is to try another brand of discs.

I had a similar problem with an NEC 1100 burner - worked fine for 12 momths then started mucking up, burning when it felt like. The burner had basically had it.I hate to say, but Teac is probably the last brand of burner I would buy; cheap and nasty, but you get what you pay for. I now have an LG 4163B and it's a gem. get a new burner.
