    Lite-On SOHW-1693S Firmware

    I just recently purchased a Lite-On SOHW-1693S burner and am wondering if I should update the firmware.

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2056

    Should I be updating to the KS09 firmware? If so, how do I go about installing this? I've learned a lot reading through threads on here and appreciate the help.

    Welcome to the Digital Video Forums of Digital Digest!

    If you perceive a NEED to (unsuccessful burns), you should consider doing so - But be aware that the site you've indicated is not an official site of your burner's manufacturer...

      I found some new firmware on LiteOn's site (above), but I should only update if I run into difficulties with the current firmware?

        My pleasure ;>}

        "I found some new firmware on LiteOn's site (above), but I should only update if I run into difficulties with the current firmware?"

        That would have to be your decision - although you should be comforted by the fact that it's an official site.

        There are others who will advise you to ALWAYS update your firmware (and, perhaps, from unofficial sites), so again, the decision is yours...

          Thanks for the advice. I can always update later. I'll see how it goes without the newer firmware.
