tmpgenc hands down. but the quality will be poor( as the source is poor)

i'd copy the discs to your HD, convert the .dat files and modify if needed.

then author with tmpgenc dvd author.

As stated above you won't get any better quality by going to a full dvd resolution. I would stay at the 352x240/288 resolution so you don't have to re-encode. The quality might actually get worse by re-encoding and the file size will get much larger by going to full D1. You can use ISObuster to extract the npeg file from the dat file then author as columbo stated.

        I wouldn't re-encode at all.
Extract all the mpg's from the .dat's on the disks, using VCDGear.
Author all you can fit on one DVDR, using DVDLab Pro.
        Link two part movies together.
Put a chapter point at the END of each video, so when you hit the NEXT button on the remote, it jumps to the next title.

          Forum Rule #1
When posting message subject titles, please be specific. Don't post vague message titles such as "Help" or "Problem", instead post meaningful and specific subject titles such as "Low DVD playback volume in PowerDVD". Messages with vague titles will probably just be ignored by everyone, so it really won't help you to be lazy when typing message subject titles.

          Please observe the forum rules.

          Regards,
