    Pioneer DVR-110D Burning problems

Been using DVD Shrink with Nero for the the last year or so with no problems at all, up until recently. I have been using two Pioneer 108 drives with no problems, but over the last few weeks, one of them has been failing half way through burning files onto Datawrite Titanium discs. The drive has no problems reading / encrypting discs at all. I thought, as it has been used a hell of a lot, it was probably worn out so today, I installed a fresh new Pioneer 110D drive. The problem is still there but now it doesnt even get past 1% before failing. I have included the log file below :-
Any help would be greatly appreciated. i have been looking at threads with similar problems but im not sure what to try as i dont want to mess things up beyond my control.

Your firmware is out of date. Update it asap - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2140

That may or may not help with your problem (it should though), overall your problem is the "Datawrite" disc's you are using. They are cheap and unreliable. Switch to a better brand such as Verbatim DataLife's or Taiyo Yuden.

Burn one at 2X or 4X, not 12X!

first, that media's manufacturer says that a new pioneer writer should have it's firmware updated before you even load one of those discs, have you done it?

second i wouldn't even think about burning at 12x with that media, try 4x.

While we are on the subject, i noticed that there are a lot of newer firmware upgrades for the 108. What benefit is there to upgrading?

Firmware upgrades can broaden a drive's support for different media types (brands). It can also remove the "Rip Lock" places on many new drives. It can also improve that capabilites of "Bit Settings".
