    CQ quality setting

I have heard that in TMPGEnc a CQ of 70 is good enough with lets say Max 3000 BR for a good quality encode and beyond that it just adds to the size without much differrence to the quality.

Is that true, has someone experimented with this ???

i doubt a constant quality setting with a MAXIMUM of 3000kbps will be something i'd ever use

an average MAYBE but max? - no way

cq70, however, should lead to something decent as opposed to cq 40 but the 3000kbps as a max value should be way too little

What according to you should be a good Bitrate with CQ percent for a good quality encode without adding unnecessary MB's using TMPGenc.....generally.

i am not aware that you can ONLY choose a max bitrate

if i rember correctly you'd have to choose min and max bitrate in tmpeg

go for something like 500min and 6000max with a cq value of 65-75
